First of all I am not diabetic or hypoglycemic. But every time I eat sugar I have a reaction similiar to what I have when I eat soy. I have massive pain and swelling in the glands in my neck and I begin wheezing.
The reason I think it may be in the processing or the sugar has been modified is that I can eat dehydrated sugar cane with no affects. No pain, no swelling.
My questions are:
Has anyone else experienced a similiar issue with sugar?
What chemicals or processing does sugar undergo that may cause a reaction to it?
What are some other options for sweetening besides the sugar cane? I use honey, agave on occassion, have used stevia not preferred.
