Just because it contains the word "diet" doesn't mean it's the best choice. The South Beach Diet may be a popular fad diet, but we found that their meal replacement bars, while low in calories, were no the most nutritious. There are better choices, like the Odwalla bar, when it comes to meal replacements. Although, FoodFacts.com still believes in a healthy well-rounded diet that contain whole foods.
We gave the South Beach Diet Bar a D because it contains various controversial ingredients and most of the ingredients in their long list are artificial (not to mention, half of the total fat in this bar is saturated): bit.ly/13NgIqt
The Odwalla Bar gets a B because it only contains four ingredients and they are all organic: bit.ly/1abDPuV
