Peppers Jalapenos Powder
Jalapeño powder is hotter than cayenne pepper powder, but the heat dissipates quicker in your mouth. The flavor is also very heat-sensitive when cooking. Add the powder to your cooking towards the end so you can enjoy both the flavor and the heat. Chili peppers are spicy because they contain a compound called Capsaicin, which is entirely unique to the chile pepper. Capsaicin is produced by some glands in a Chili pepper's placenta, which is located in the top portion of the pepper, just below the stem. The placenta is approximately sixteen times hotter than the rest of the pepper, and it is usually removed with the seeds.
