Grapes Puree Concentrate
Grape Puree: blended or finely crushed grapes This edible berry grows in clusters on small shrubs or climbing vines in temperate zones throughout the world including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North and South America. California is the largest U.S. producer of grapes-both for wine and for the table. There are thousands of grape varieties, each with its own particular use and charm. In general, grapes are smooth-skinned and juicy; they may have several seeds in the center or they may be seedless. A recent study shows that a particular polyphenol in grape skins, resveratrol, inhibits blood platelet aggregation. The difference between red and white wine is that red wine is fermented with the grape skins, while white wine has the skins removed prior to fermentation. So, red wine contains the beneficial resveratrol, while white wine does not A concentrate is a form of substance which has had the majority of its base component (in the case of a liquid: the solvent) removed. Typically this will be the removal of water from a solution or suspension such as the removal of water from fruit juice. One benefit of producing a concentrate is that of a reduction in weight and volume for transportation as the concentrate can be re-constituted at the time of usage by the addition of the solvent.
