Ginger, Pickled, Yellow
Also known as Cream Ginger, it is a perennial herb with very leafy stems to 5'. Its creamy yellow flowers are heavily perfumed, may be 3" across and trail long red stamens. Frequently used in leis. Pickling is the process of preparing a food by soaking and storing it in a brine (salt) or vinegar solution, a process which can preserve otherwise perishable foods for months.
