Crypthecodinium Cohnii Oil Crypthecodinium cohnii oil is a source of Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Many scientists believe that DHA and ARA (arachidonic acid)are most important for infants when the eyes and brain are rapidly growing and developing (in the last trimester of pregnancy to around 18 months of life). DHA and ARA are fats that are naturally found in breastmilk. In the body, you can find high amounts of these fats in the brain and eyes. This oil is produced by microalgae (Crypthecodinium Cohnii). These are the same microalgae that are consumed by fish and other animals.
