Why Good Nutrition Matters

You may have not considered how important good nutrition is until you begin a diet. Unfortunately, if you had understood the importance of good nutrition earlier you might not need to lose weight now.

But it is never too late to change your outlook on life and now is the perfect time to see how good nutrition can improve your quality of life.

The basic facts of nutrition – calorie counts, RDA information, and other facts and figures- can become confusing. To have great nutrition you do not have to spend hours analyzing the foods you eat.

Here are some tips on having great nutrition and why it matters.

Water is an essential part of good nutrition.

If you don’t drink water for a few days you can actually become very ill. Water gives your body energy and flushes out your fat cells. It also helps flush toxins out of your body.

Other nutrients work the same way as water. If you go without them your body can become very ill. You will not have any energy and your body will essentially crash. Good nutrition provides your body with the energy it needs every day.

Good nutrition also affects your mental abilities. Your ability to learn and think things through depends on good nutrition.

Sometimes, bad nutrition can lead to severe mental deficiencies such as those seen in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Good nutrition for mental agility is important for both children and adults. Poor nutrition can lead to your missing important facts and clues every day.

Believe it or not good nutrition is also related to your income. Your job depends on your ability to stay focused, your social skills, and your mental skills. Poor nutrition can cause problems in all three areas.

Your diet will determine how your brain processes information, the energy you have to complete tasks, and your reaction time. If any of these abilities are impaired it can affect your job performance and your income.

Poor nutrition is related to disease. Heart disease, diabetes, and other major health problems have been found to have poor nutrition as a contributing factor.

Good nutrition over a lifetime leads to a healthy body and gives you the opportunity to fight off disease with a strong immune system. Proper nutrition also allows your body to fight common viruses like colds and flues.

Good nutrition equals a better quality of life in everyone. It is never too late to start on a good nutritional path. If you have been eating poorly for years you will almost instantly feel better once you change your eating habits.

Don’t burden yourself with the confusing information found on most food labels. Develop a general idea of what foods are good for and what foods are diet busters.

Stay away from the foods that are unhealthy. Once you began to see how much better you feel when eating a healthy diet you will be hooked – no more poor nutrition for you.
